It’s common knowledge that The May Fair is a hub for all things celebrity and barely a day goes by when we don’t see some of our favourite stars in the lobby. But some of the most famous – and random – scenes have been filmed in and around our hotel.
The May Fair team are at the epicenter of all celeb knowledge, and we’ve been lucky enough to rack their brains for some personal favourites.
Hidden amongst the achives of the British Pathe, ‘The Beachcomber Bar’ clip shows the now Crystal Ballroom as it was in 1963.
Back in the day when hula dancers and eating amongst the wildlife were the in thing, The May Fair was ahead of the game with an indoor rainforest menagerie.
Guests danced the night away, had a chance to chat with the resident parrot and could even take home the chopsticks!
Despite this interview being one of Parkinson’s most famous chats, it’s a little known fact that this was shot in the now high-tech cinema at The May Fair.
One of our more recent favourites is Pink singing her heart out in ‘Nobody Knows’ from the opulent Penthouse suite. It’s a shame you can’t see the fabulous view through all that rain!
Shot in a surprisingly empty bar, you can see a great view of the bar as it still is today.
